In 231 the boys are back in town, after a worthy hiatus. Benny went to see the Cubs, and RZ went to SEA. There's much to learn in this episode, as RZ's mind was opened as he received his first dose of the newly erected Ken Griffey Jr. Statue at Safeco Field. Benny's mind was opened as well, with Old Style beers at Wrigley Field. In the vein of baseball, the boys also discuss their supreme appreciation for Mike Trout. They also discuss Mariners under cover stars for the 2017 season, as well as Aaron "Judge Dredd" Judge of the rival Yankees. Turns out, he turns the common fastball into his bitch. 230 comes correct with the annual installment of "Season Predictions" for MLB. Also, the annual installment of "Green Fields of the Mind" by the late, great, Bart Giamatti. The boys also discuss the filthiness of You Better Call Saul. Get ready for that. Also, a quick check in on Vin Scully's replacement. This is a fine episode for baseball enthusiasts, as well as people who like sweet shit.
229 brings the heat, as expected. The show kicks off with a little discussion of how good Benny and RZ are at basketball. That somehow evolves into the boys discussing 80's style fighting games i.e.Streets of Rage and Final Fight. This leads to talk of Stallone, and stories directly from Sly's mouth (specifically discussing Mr.T). Randomly, the fellas start talking about The Wizard of Oz and the midgets surrounding the film. Oh yeah, Val Kilmer talk finds its way into the conversation as well. This is good stuff. Got some fan mail going too.
In 228, Benny B and RZ discuss RZ and the beginning of his 36th year on Planet Earth. They also quickly get into another discussion about Commando, and the exploits of "Bennett". Very insightful shit. They also discuss the World Baseball Classic in depth (with a special look into Taylor Crawford). There's a quick break down of the NCAA tourney, capped with a Shaq Bracket, or "Shaquet". Oh, and a quick bit about Star Wars Rebels. Benny and RZ try their hardest to NOT talk about Tombstone, but they did... That rolls into a quick review about Narcos. Sick show.
At long last, Benny and RZ get to talk about Logan, and talk about it they do. They also discuss John Wick 2, and his extremely accurate shooting. Items also addressed, Taboo, Patriot acquisitions, the World Baseball Classic, and a Red Sox update of course. The fellas finish strong with their Favorite actors of all time.
Episode 226 takes you on a roller coaster ride through hills and valleys. There's discussion of Tombstone, other lesser westerns, Logan, and other things that'er sweet (Like the aggressiveness of a xenomorph). On a less pleasant tone, Benny & RZ discuss the passing of one of our heroes, Bill Paxton.
225 kicks off with Benny and RZ going on about the recent Boston sporting events they'd recently attended. Celtics, and Bruins of course. Piggy backing on that, they quickly discuss the impending return of the Red Sox and the 2017 baseball season. Of course, there's mention of the Patriots excellent excellent Super Bowl. Probably won't stop talking about that. Then we talk about the Chicago Vice poster. Just reminding folks of how sweet it is.
What do you think we discussed in 224? Super Bowl 51, that's what. The greatest Super Bowl of all time (if you don't know, now you know). You wanna hear a great Patriots recap? Then push play. To wet the whistle, Benny and RZ pump out a few sound clips from fans and non-fans alike. They also pump a few "cool ones" to celebrate the kick off of High & Tight "Wet and Wild" weekend. Additionally, a few stats get thrown around, centering around the statistical impossibility of the Patriots coming back. 222 welcomes back his highness, Kyle Bruce (or Encyclopedia Brucetannica). The original triple threat discusses the following: classical tunes, Suncoast Video, and a mini Patriot preview. Additionally, and to the tune of New England sports, they provide a little update about Big Papi. They also comment on the timeless look of Red Sox commentator, Dennis Eckersley. Finally, there is a very very in-depth discussion about the present day Boston Celtics, as well as the Red Auerbach dynasty era Celtics.
221 is a real ruuuuuuush. Benny B and RZ talk wrestling a little, then ease nicely into a little Alan Thicke love, based off a quick Thicke clip from Tim and Eric Awesome Show Nice Job (Cinco Napple). Episode 218 is pretty straight forward. Benny, RZ, and special guest Kyle Bruce break down Rogue One. There's a boat load of laughs, and pretty excellent break-downs of the film throughout. We also throw in a quick break down of the greatest SNL skit of all time (Casey Affleck, Starbucks). Good shit.
217 kicks off with a little re-recap of the Texas blowout. Specifically The Dirty River boys, and their smokin' hot bassist. Chris Sale to the Red Sox? Yeah, we talk about that too (as well as the Cy Young Award winner, Rick Porcello vs. minidick Justin Verlander). Benny B and RZ ALSO get to the bottom of the Billy Ripken "fuckface" story.
